The theme this year is Kshetradanam meaning pilgrimage. I have depicted the different important places of pilgrimage from Mount Kailash, Kedarnath, Kashi, Ayodhya, Thiruvannamalai, Guruvayur and so on. Women from different states in their state costumes is also showcased.

My Appa had a different vison this year. Instead of keeping it in the traditional way he decided to give it a little twist. He said that let us make rotating Golu. The idea was to rotate the Golu with the help of the motor benath it. The ideas turned out pretty well. All the credit goes to him ✨️
We have also included Ram Mandir Temple as an extra glam to the setup which also added a nice touch to it ❤️✨️
I dedicate this to My lovely Appa and all appreciation goes to him ✨️

Namaskaram, I am Vimala, and I have been keeping Golu for the past 30 years with a deep focus on tradition and devotion. This year, we embraced Navratri with great joy and enthusiasm, presenting a Golu that thoughtfully combines various divine themes. Our main step followed the traditional display with Perumal, Thayar, Marapachi dolls, and Each step featured one Abhimanasthalam in line with Vaishnavism principles.
We also dedicated a smaller stand solely to the Divyadesams, featuring Tirupati Perumal, Ahobilan Narasimha, Thiruvidanthai Perumal, the rare Thiruvalanthai Perumal, Athi Varadar, Kumbakonam Chakrapani, along with a special focus on Srirangam, Triplicane Parthasarathy, and the revered Guru Parampara.
For the Ramayana, we depicted iconic moments of affection between Lord Rama and Hanuman, the Ravana Darbar, the Shabari fruit offering, and the Lakshman Rekha incident at the Parnashala.
In the Krishna avatar, we aimed to recreate Vrindavan with trees and mountains, portraying various stages of Krishna’s life: from Vasudeva carrying Krishna, to Govardhan Leela with his cows, and finally, the Vishwaroopam and Geetha Upadesam.
For children, we crafted a charming village scene featuring thatched-roof houses, a bustling farmers' market, children attending school, a grandmother selling vadais, an agricultural field with working farmers, women drawing water from a well, and a temple at the hilltop where a wedding ceremony was taking place.
Our Golu theme this year centered around the avatars of Lord Vishnu, depicting Ram and Krishna separately, Divyadesams, and a lively village scene offering something for everyone to enjoy and connect with.

Dolls in various forms and sizes take centre stage in many Hindu households for nine nights and 10 days my collection has expanded from clay dolls to “Bommais” from Kanchipuram , Cuddalore and Madras to a few Bengali dolls and some that I purchased off the streets in kanyakumari. I have a theme dedicated to Krishna which has glimpses of his life – Vasudeva carrying the baby Krishna secretly in storm under the protection of Adiseshan, the child Krishna dancing on the snake Kalingan, relishing butter with foster mother Yashoda , dancing with Gopikas. There is also Krishna as Parthasarthy , the charioteer of Arjuna in the Mahabharat war. We also kept village theme and kailash mountain The nine days are usually filled with visitors who come home , eat variety of food ,sang songs, comment on the collection and go home . We had given return gift to all the devoties who visited our golu .
